SPARX Transition Program
SPARX is a program located on our school site, and is designed to support pre-school children in successfully preparing for school life the year before their commencement in Reception.
Families are invited to enrol in the program once they have successfully completed the enrolment process for Reception at St Pius X School. The SPARX program does not replace Kindergarten as it supplements the child's readiness for school.
SPARX commences in mid term one and continues for the entire school year. Students attend one session per week for 2.5 hours. There is a choice of a Wednesday or Friday morning session. Parents are able to enrol their child to commence in the program at any stage throughout the year.
The SPARX program is planned by a qualified early years teacher and supported by an Education Support Officer (ESO).
Children will benefit from
- Building relationships with staff and making new friends
- Building confidence and familiarity of the school environment and our community
- Involvement in a range of activities that will enhance their social, emotional and academic wellbeing and readiness for school.
- Development of fine and gross motor skills as well as Literacy (PreLit), Numeracy and play-based activities
We look forward to your child flourishing in our transition program.
